About E. A. Castillo
E doesn't do things like everyone else and their creative journey reflect this.
Having earned a BFA (Acting, Directing emphasis) from Stephen F. Austin State University while the internet was still relatively new, E entered the professional theatrical world as a Stage Management Apprentice for Milwaukee Repertory Theatre in Milwaukee, WI. From there E guided vampiric vixens through dark corridors, handled antique kimonos for a prima Butterfly, and set sail on the maiden voyage of The Pequod - a true world premiere undertaking worthy of the operatic stage.
As much fun as was had, E still felt the call to performance. The decision was made to retire the stopwatch and the lived experiences of working backstage and analyzing text for scenic elements has proven a valuable skill many times over.
As an actor, it has been described E brings a three-dimensional, fully-lived point of view to their characters. Their thoughts are loud, as a tutor once mentioned, giving the audience the unique view into the mind of the character.
As a narrator, E is bold and cinematic in their expression. They understand the musicality of the author's words to paint a vulnerable vibrancy to the text. Utilizing their skillset of script analysis, E creates a natural dialogue flow between the characters and the narration.
When not narrating or on-screen, you may find E obsessively listening to their divorced-dad playlist and educating their neice and nephews as future rock legends.
